The Danube – the longest river in the EU – is the perfect way to enter and discover the city of Bratislava. Supervised by our professional instructors, you'll embark on a thrilling and safe water-sailing experience. What you will see during the Danube descent

Your adventure begins in the medieval town of Hainburg (in Austria), where our expert instructors will teach you the skills of water sailing. As you traverse the river, you’ll pass under the historic Devin Castle, witness the remnants of the infamous Iron Curtain, a somber reminder of those who sought freedom from communism, and explore the rich fauna and flora of the Danube. Feel the adrenaline surge as you sail past majestic cruise ships and even cross a border on the river!

Pick up in Bratislava, in Vienna City or at Vienna airport

In Bratislava groups will be picked up at their accommodation. For an extra fee, we can pick up groups in Vienna city center or at Vienna airport which is located close to the descent starting point. The cruise starts in Hainburg an der Donau (Austria) and ends near Bratislava city center.

Small groups or tight schedule

You will navigate on the same route but the starting point is under the Devin castle which results in a shorter descent (approx. 1h15 on water).

Important Information

- No experience or physical requirement. - Warm raincoats are provided in case of bad weather. - The activity is secure as the canoes are tied up in a way that prevents any fall in the water. - For different reasons (water height, availability, ...), we reserve the right to change the used type of craft (canoe/raft). - For safety reasons, please be aware that this activity is not alcohol friendly. Participants under alcohol influence can be refused at the activity without refund.

Straight from the airport

The descent can be organized directly on the way from Vienna airport to Bratislava. Your luggage will wait for you at the end. Cross the border "illegally" on the water 🙂
